This Black Soil Initiative is focused on connecting Black Central Kentuckians with agricultural land owned and operated by other black Kentuckians. Black Soil is an effort to change the conversation around the key elements of sustainability, land usage and educational opportunities within Ag sector in Kentucky and surrounding regions. The goal is to strategically enhance local support for black farmers by connecting them with wider local urban consumer bases, increase Black participation in Agriculture sector which Black Americans represent 2% nationally and 1.5% in Kentucky.
